Meet Our Animals
CONSERVATION
From collaring elephants for research in southern Africa to rescuing an orphaned cross-eyed seal on the east coast, no conservation effort is too big or too far for the Zoo. After all, conservation is at the core of everything we do. Learn about a few of our recent and ongoing initiatives.
Sea Turtles
Every year, the Sea Turtle Second Chance program rescues, rehabilitates, and releases sick and injured sea turtles. Find out about our recent 2022 release.
GORILLAS
The Zoo is pleased to introduce Charlotte, our baby gorilla who you helped name! The name Charlotte, new to the gorilla species survival plan registry, was selected from almost 700 unique names submitted in our baby naming contest, which raised nearly $5,000 for animal care and Zoo upkeep.
Penguins
Guests to the Aquarium may notice a unique penguin among the black and gold colony: a one-winged, one-year-old gentoo penguin named Floppy.
